It
would forever be remembered that on the 12th day of December 2019, Oyigbo
West, a community in Iriebe, Oyigbo LGA of Rivers State stood still in
bewilderment as the graduating students of Crown Prince Charity Foundation’s
Sewing /Fashion Designing School took their turn to praise the Lord for what
God is doing for them through the Foundation.
It
might interest you to know that CPCF, as the foundation is known and called, is
a Non-Governmental Organization, whose mission is to provide a gateway for the socio-economic
transformation of the widows, orphans and the less privileged by creating
avenues that provide education, employment and generate businesses, thereby
eradicating illiteracy, poverty and making sure that their target populace are
self-reliant and have hope of a better future.

The
Foundation celebrated their 9th Edition of the Graduation Ceremony of their
students. As their custom has always been in the previous editions, each
successful student went home not just with the knowledge acquired in fashion
designing for the last 13 months; they also went home with a brand new sewing
machine courtesy of the Foundation as a starter pack. To witness the occasion
were the Paramount Ruler of Iriebe, HRH, Eze Monday Nworenwu in company of one
of his Council of Chiefs member, Chief Adiele, the Northern Rivers District
Presbyter and the Sectional Leader of Iriebe Section of Assemblies of God
Nigeria, Rev. Ene Pepple, Rev. Osuji amongst others dignitaries.
It was Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights activist
and clergyman who asserted that life’s most persistent and urgent question is,
‘What
are you doing for others?’ Looking back at the number of lives impacted
positively by the Founder and President, Rev. Ime Akpabio and wife, Mrs Love
Ime through the Foundation, one can authoritatively say, “they have given a convincing
answer to the most persistent and urgent question asked by M. L. King Jnr”.

It
is noteworthy to state that CPCF Sewing/Fashion Designing School is a 100% free
training programme for a period of minimum 12 months. The students do not pay
any form of registration or tuition fee neither are they allowed to buy any
sewing/study materials. Everything is been provided for free-of-charge by the
foundation except their time and commitment.
Taking
a cue from the above, one would not hesitate agreeing with Nelson Mandela, the
anti-apartheid activist and former President of South Africa when he said, “Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity; it is an
act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is
man-made and can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings …”
Indeed, the action undertaken by CPCF and her founder and wife has gone a long
way to overcome and eradicate poverty in the community and beyond.
HRH Eze Monday and
Chief Adiele, in their separate speeches thanked God that the act of kindness
shown by the Foundation to the indigents is happening in the community where
they superintend giving a nod for the good works done by the Foundation on
behalf of the community. The Rev. Pepple who took time to encourage the
graduand, tasked them to make good use of the opportunity given to them for the
service of humanity.
Words of admonition by the Rev. Ene pepple |
Highlight of the
occasion was the presentation of certificate of completion and brand new sewing
machines to all the students by the Royal Father, HRH, Eze Monday and the invocation
of God’s blessing upon the graduating students by the Spiritual Father, Rev.
Ene Pepple.
Joy knew no bound in
the faces of all who attended the ceremony as the students thrilled their
invitees to a sumptuous meal in appreciation for what the Lord has done for
them.
Rev. Ime and Mrs. Love
Akpabio are from Ikono LGA in Akwa Ibom State – Nigeria.
