UKPONG-UDO RESTATES COMMITMENT TO WELFARE OF CONSTITUENTS

The good people of Ikono and Ini Local Government Areas have been assured of effective representation which will yield tangible results that will improve their lives.



The member representing Ikono/Ini in the House of Representatives, Hon.(Obong) Emmanuel Ukpong-udo, made this promise on Sunday 25th August, at Mbiabong Ikot Udofia, Ini Local government area.

The Lawmaker, who is reputed for identifying personally with his people, in good or bad times, was present at the dedication service of little Miss Emmanuella Sunday Nana, a new born daughter to one of constituents, Mr Sunday Nana.

Speaking during the ceremony, Ukpong-udo stressed that he is committed to ensuring Ikono/Ini people enjoy result-oriented representation for the entirety of his 4-year sojourn in the Green Chambers.

The child dedication which was presided over by Methodist Church Mbiabong, also had in attendance the Member representing Ini state Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong, Chairman of Council, (Elder) Israel Idaisin, PDP chapter Chairman of Ini, Mr. Emmanuel Umah, Former Special Assistants to the Governor, Hon. Lawrence Udoide, Hon. Charles Asan and other PDP stalwarts.




Hon. Ukpong-udo announced and doled out empowerment packages to members of his constituency in attendance, including Mrs Sunday Nana, the mother of his newest constituent.

On the same day, Hon. Ukpong-udo, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Udo Okon Tom (popularly called 'Doctor'), an indigene of Ibiono Ewura in Ini Local Government Area.

Represented by Hon. Victor Akang, his Special Assistant on Special Duties, Ukpong-udo amongst other donations, made provision for business start-up capital for the widow, Mrs Ekaette Udo Okon Tom, who has been left to carter for the six children of the deceased whom he described as "a loss to both the family and the constituency."
