...As AKS PDP unit to unit frontiers tours Ikono middle ward, 1, 2, 3, and 8

  Inspite of the attempt by opposition party to weaken the already established strength of Peoples Democratic Party in Ikono LGA, the party is increasingly waxing stronger as the Council Chairman, Hon Nyakno Okoibu reassured electorates that it is the only political party in the area.

Hon Okoibu disclosed this yesterday when members and leadership of Aks PDP Unit to Unit frontiers toured some wards in the area to continuously galvanize and mobilize natives for the success of PDP in the 2023 general elections.

The council helsman lauded the frontiers for their efforts in moving from Unit to units to sensitize people on the need to support the peoples Democratic party.

He further informed the people of Ikono middle that PDP has done a lot to the cradle of Ibibio, ranging from provision of roads and most especially, maintenance of peace in the society.

The council boss also drew their attention to the ongoing renovation of their health centre, promising to ensure that it has been equipped, while stressing that, soonest,  he is going to commence electrification project in the three villages that do not have light in the ward.

Okoibu vowed to reward handsomely, any unit in the ward that will give the highest votes to PDP come 2023.

Hear him, " I am so delighted to be here. I am here as a youth. I want to thank you for making me your chairman.

Ward 1 is PDP, Ikono is PDP. We have to stand for PDP, from the top to bottom. I thank the frontiers for their efforts in moving from units to units to mobilize natives. PDP has done alot. It has given us road and peace. I am going to make sure that our health centre is well renovated and equipped. I am going to ensure that there's full electrification of the three villages that do not have light. I have given water to Ikot Ekon. I used my money to sponsor the mounting of electric poles that fell down. PDP is the only party that we know. Anybody that comes around to introduce another party to you, send him or her away. If you go, you will be asked to take fetish oath. We don't support that here.

I want to promise you that any unit that will give PDP the highest vote, will be rewarded. If you have any activities or ceremony, let me know. I will meet with all the youths President in this ward."

Responding, the State coordinator of the group Sir Rustom Alexander intimated that every electorate who has his or her PVC has a stake in the party, calling on each party faithfuls in each unit to mobilize at least twenty other PVC holders for the success of PDP in 2023.

Alexander told the mammoth crowd that there are other political groups whose intentions is to work for PDP, explaining that all the political groups are poised to work for the success of PDP.

According to him, "Aks Unit to Unit frontiers is the ultimate advance team that focuses on mobilizing support at the unit level."

His words, "we have heard that there are new political party. We know that PDP is a religion in Akwa Ibom State and in Ikono local Government Area

We are here today under the platform of Unit2unit frontiers, a body designated by the party to carry every party faithful along. We are here to say hi to ward 1 because the security of Ikono is maned currently by this ward". 

He said that PDP demands that the youths, elders, women, men should be communicated to in this course, noting that they have a responsibility to return Umo Eno as the Governor, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem as Senator, Dr Glory Edet as member of House of representatives and Hon Itoro Columba as member, representing Ikono state constituency in AKHA

He Thanked them for coming out and sitting peacefully while imploring them to defend their Son, the Executive Chairman of Ikono LGA , Hon Nyakno Okoibu.

Spokeperson of Women, Mrs Esther Etim also alluded that the women of the ward are all for PDP. In the farm, Market, church, they will talk about PDP.

In ward 2, Hon Aniefiok Essien aka Consor assured that PDP will win at all level, indicating that defection is not a new thing in politics.

Hon Itoro Ekpo highlighted that PDP family in ward 2 remains intact while the SA to Governor on health matters, Mrs Maria Eshiet, expressed his satisfaction that what happened in Nazareth has happened in Ikono, stressing that Ikono has birth a result oriented group 

She assured that PDP in Ikono remains intact as the chapter secretary of PDP in Ikono LGA, Mr Ernest Maurison assured that Ward 2 is not panic, urging that no one should talk about defection again, so they will not give credibility to illegality, as they withstood the War saw war, they will withstand  Biafran war..

In ward 3, a former ward Chair and Councillor, Hon Asuquo Udoudo reaffirmed that ward 3 is made of PDP stocks and nothing can stop them from delivering the ward to the party come 2023.

The leader of 7th Ikono Legislative Council who joined the Unit to Unit delegation, Hon Nsikak Ntok reiterated that Peoples Democratic Party runs in the veins of every Ikono indigenes and promised that he will lead the advance team to Interface with all legislative leaders in the State.

Ndiya Usung Ikot Idaha, Ward 8 gladly expressed their commitment to the course of PDP and the mandate of the Unit to Unit frontiers.

The meetings which had in attendance former ward Chairmen and excos, past and presence, stalwarts of the party at the grassroots level, ward coordinators of Unit to Unit frontiers, also witnessed presentation of token of support to the Coordinators of each ward by the leadership of AKS PDP unit to Unit frontiers ably led and performed by Sir Rustom Alexander.
